Avoid Double Bogies

Whether you are a beginner at the game of golf or not, you may be looking for ways that you can avoid double bogies all together. A double bogey is scoring two over par on a hole. Overall, in order to have a successful game and feel like you are a successful player, you want to be able to avoid double bogies on the course completely. Not sure how? Here are some ways in which you can work on improving your game, and avoiding double bogies the best that you can:

Know your strategy. Research ways in which you specifically can improve your game, or, talk to a friend or family member who plays and can give you tips based on their own game. With this information, you will be able to develop a strategy that you can take out on to the course. The strategy may take some trial and error to perfect but will ultimately benefit you!

Be resilient and efficient. To be successful at the game of golf you must be resilient both mentally and physically. Even if you mess up a shot or do not play exactly how you would like, you must keep calm and under control in order to not make the same mistake twice. Getting your mind under control on the course will help to avoid double bogies!

Keep the ball in play at all times. To help keep the ball in play during the duration of the game, you can think about utilizing a long iron or a hybrid on the course. Using a longer club during your game may be difficult to control at times. Both long irons and hybrids can cover around the same distance on the course, and often, people feel that long irons can offer much more control.
