The well-maintained layout provides stunning views throughout the round, making it a visually captivating experience. Amenities such as golf carts, club rentals, driving range access, professional instruction, pitching/chipping areas, and putting greens further enhance the golfing experience. Whether you're a seasoned pro or just starting out, Back Bay Golf Course promises an enjoyable and memorable golfing adventure.

Player Reviews: A Mixed Bag of Experiences

Back Bay Golf Course has garnered a range of reviews from players, reflecting diverse experiences and expectations. Some reviewers have lauded the course as a "fun little par 3 course," particularly suitable for beginners and casual players. The complimentary access for hotel guests and the lack of crowds have also been praised. However, the course has also faced criticism for its resemblance to a "glorified putt-putt course," falling short of expectations for a genuine golf experience.

The course's beautiful setting has been acknowledged, but concerns have been raised about the condition of the greens, described as "shockingly bad" and neglected. Reviewers have expressed disappointment that such a scenic location has not received proper maintenance. Additionally, complaints have been made about the presence of weeds and crab grass on the greens, detracting from the overall golfing experience.

Golfer Collective provides a balanced assessment of Back Bay Golf Course, highlighting both its strengths and weaknesses. The course's nine-hole par 3 layout and accessibility to the general public make it an attractive option for golfers seeking a casual round or a quick game with friends or family. The beautiful setting and generally favorable weather conditions further enhance the experience.

However, Golfer Collective acknowledges the criticisms regarding course conditions. The poorly maintained greens, weeds, and crab grass have been identified as significant drawbacks that diminish the overall quality of the course. These concerns raise questions about the perceived value of playing at Back Bay Golf Course, with some reviewers cautioning against paying for the experience due to these issues.

In conclusion, Back Bay Golf Course offers a range of golfing options in Newport Beach, catering to players of varying skill levels. While it has its strengths, such as staff friendliness and opportunities for walking rounds without crowds, the course falls short in terms of maintenance compared to other courses in the area. The perceived value of playing at Back Bay Golf Course remains a contentious point among reviewers, with some finding it worthwhile and others advising caution due to subpar conditions.

Resort Use Cases

Many resorts face a problem of under utilization - especially during weekdays. Golfer Collective platform allows you to create offers that:

a) allow you to use locals to increase yields on your expiring tee times without interferring with your guests' tee times or their higher fees,

b) Advertise last minute stay and play packages to our members, of whom, 34% are willing to travel for a good deal on 1-2 weeks notice, 54% on 1 month's notice

What is considered an expiring tee-time?

From what we've seen, it's the time frame when chances of bookings drop drastically and the expected value of a tee time rapidly approaches $0. For most courses, it's the last 24 hours before a tee time.

24 hours if our default but you're welcome to extend your offer out to meet the needs of your course. For example, a more rural course may want to use 72 hours while a resort near a city may want to use 24 hours

Can my course do this on our own?

Great question and you absolutely can!

It's easy enough to build out an audience of value golfers. From what we've heard from our partner courses, the more difficult and time consuming part is utilizing them without damaging your brand.

Instead of adding another set of processes to your to do list, you can leverage Golfer Collective and our process to increase your yields for free.
