One of the best parts about the game of golf is it is a great sport no matter how old you are! Whether you are just starting out or you have been playing for years, it is a sport that always has room for improvement and always provides a fun and entertaining experience. If you have young children that have not tried out golfing yet – now is the time! It does not matter what their skillset looks like if they are athletic or if they have never picked up a golf club. There are so many reasons why starting your child out on the golf course can benefit their life overall, but here are just a few:
- It will teach them emotional skills such as responsibility and discipline. To help work on building your child’s emotional and mental skillset, golf can help to teach responsibility as well as discipline on the course. Your child will learn what they are responsible for on the golf course and what the etiquette looks like. They will also learn how to discipline themselves on and off the course to ultimately help improve their game.
- It is a great, low intensity way to get exercise in. To get your child’s heart rate up and get them moving and building muscle, golf is a great way to get them started. It is a low intensity work out but will tire them out by the end of the game!
- Golf is a non-contact, safe sport to start them out with. If they have never played a sport before, golf is a great place to start. Because it is a non-contact sport, it is definitely safer when it comes to wanting to avoid injuries for your child.
- Golf is fun and teaches the importance of teamwork. Simply put, golf is just plain fun! Your child will have a blast while also learning the importance of working with others, whether you are on the same team or not!
